If you are looking for self catering accommodation in Northumberland such as a self catering cottage, self catering flat, or self catering accommodation of any kind, then please take time to browse our site.
Coldgate Mill is situated on the old coach road near to the dramatic Northumberland national park. It has the original millstream running through the garden. The water supply for all the self catering accommodation is from a natural spring.
We can offer you a luxurious base to explore the wonders of Northumberland, which we prefer to call "the Magic Kingdom of Northumbria". Suitable for walking holidays in the Cheviot hills or as a base to explore Northumberland itself, Coldgate Mill is within 20 minutes of the best of Northumberland's beaches, and far enough away to avoid the cooling coastal fogs.

Coldgate Mill is situated in the aptly called "Happy Valley" which is only a mile or two from Wooler, known as the Gateway to the Cheviots.  This charming town provides good shops and amenities. Whether you are a serious walker or just an ambler and dreamer, there is something for everyone within a few yards of Coldgate Mill. Try walking alongside the river which tumbles down  Happy Valley  and watch out for the red squirrels, pheasants, badgers, wild birds of all breeds and carpets of wild flowers that change with the seasons. In May, for instance, the woods are covered in bluebells.

Coldgate Mill self catering holidays are available year round, and at attractive prices. Why not spend some time in our Mill flat or Studio which both sleep 2, or in the tastefully appointed barn which caters for 4/6

Edinburgh 50 minutes. Newcastle 40 minutes. Cheviot Hills two miles

How about a cycling holiday? we offer security for your cycles and equipment. Route 68, part of the Sustrans network for Pennine Cycleway North, runs past the door and has proved very popular this summer.. Sustrans Chief Executive John Grimshaw recently cycled the route and described it as " a wonderful experience which equals, if not betters, the C2C in terms of its variety and interest".

One of the bonuses of staying with us is the chance to see one of the last bastions in the country of our native Red Squirrel. The sad fact is that in most parts of the country now, all you will see is the grey, and this is a pale comparison to our very own native Red. The woods around Happy Valley are perfect for this beautiful creature and they are a common sight right out of any of our holiday property windows.

GOOD NEWS THE RED SQUIRRELS ARE BACK! COME AND VISIT THEM NOW BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE!
