Beehive Café

Our café is always a hive of activity offering hearty meals at affordable prices. We serve daily specials ranging from local favourites like mince and leek pudding to a more international spicy chicken curry.

The café also produces fantastic buffets for public and private sector organisations as well as private parties,

- Cool cold pasta salad with natural yoghurt, coriander, cucumber and some mild spices and lemon juice

- Homemade quiches – loads to choose from

Poached salmon and dill

Egg and bacon

Parmesan and asparagus

Mature cheddar and caramelised red onion

- Tuna nicoises – mixed leaves with dolphin friendly tuna, new potatoes, anchovies, boiled eggs, olives and a few French beans

- Chicken Caesar salad - cos lettuce, torn chicken cucumber, tomatoes, croutons, lashings of Parmesan shavings and a Caesar dressing

- Green salad – mixed leaves with handfuls of fresh herbs, cucumber, tomatoes, red onions, pine nuts and dressing

Chicken breast slowly oven roasted in crispy breadcrumbs

Vegetable and chicken satay sticks with a homemade peanut satay sauce

Goujons of fish served with wedges of lemon and herb mayonnaise

Crispy Greek salad – mixed leaves, chunks of Feta cheese, plump tomatoes, cucumber, crisp red onion, and juicy black olives

Sunflower and Apricot crusty bread served with best butter

- Bacon or sausage baps, naughty but nice (vegetarian available)

- Chilli or vegetarian chilli, served with plain boiled rice, a few nachos and sour                            cream.

- Our own mild creamy chicken curry and plain boiled rice, served with mini garlic and Coriander naans

- Creamy mushroom and leek risotto, served with a crisp dressed rocket salad

- Northumbrian Pan Haggerty, try our local dish of sliced potatoes, cheddar cheese, onions and butter slowly braised for hours and mopped up with lovely freshly baked crusty baguette
